STgenetics® sires made their marks around the world following the April 2023 sire summary. Led by CAPTAIN’s TPI chart-topping success, STgenetics® sires had a strong performance in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.
For the second time in a row, CAPTAIN was the #1 Proven Sire on the Top 100 International TPI® Bulls List this April. Adding another 29 points in TPI and making impressive gains in Udder Composite and Foot and Leg Composite, CAPTAIN solidifies his spot on the Proven list being +3243 TPI and +1258 NM$. He is +1.46 for PTAT, +1.64 for UDC and +1.06 for FLC. He is also the #1 MACE-LPI sire in Canada and #1 PLI Proven sire in the U.K.

STgenetics® has 87 among the top 100 sires on the High Ranking TPI® Genomic Young Bulls list by Holstein Association USA in April 2023. THORSON again is the #1 GTPI of the breed at +3220 GTPI, +1308 NM$ and +1326 CM$. THORSON is an impressive combination of the best proven bloodlines being a Cowen X CHARL X Director X RUBICON. Another Legend™ sire, THORSON is +157 lbs of Fat with +.35% and +73 lbs of Protein with +.10% and is a popular sire of many of the top GTPI heifers on the High Ranking TPI® Genomic Females list.
In Canada, Delta-LAMBDA had an impressive day coming in at #2 on the Canadian LPI list at +3689, while maintaining his +14 for Conformation (Type) and being +3004 for PRO$. His milking daughters in Canada are holding 1.8 kg Fat/Day while 89% of that same group (1940 classified) are scoring Good Plus or better, with 46 Excellent daughters. In the U.S., Delta-LAMBDA is +2.66 PTAT and +2.87 UDC. The Delta-LAMBDA influence is seen both in the show ring and at home, where his daughters are winning shows and his milk, fat and protein add dollars to the bulk tank.
RAPID maintained his #4 spot on Top 100 International TPI® Bulls List this April at +3027 TPI. He is balanced breeding with a Type and Udder Composite of +2.37 PTAT & +2.13 UDC. RAPID also excelled on the Canadian LPI list, where he is +3171 LPI, +1069 kg of Milk, +83 kg of Fat and +57 kg of Protein in his Canadian proof. RAPID also carries the A2A2 gene and is EcoFeed®heifer for Feed Conversion Efficiency in the growing stage in heifers.
Proven sire CHARL comes in at #11 on the list at +2968 TPI. With 6 successful proven proof runs under his belt and being a former #1 TPI sire in 2021, CHARL maintains his genetic greatness! CHARL is +1032 NM$, +115 lbs of Fat and A2A2. CHARL’s greatness is also present through his sons and daughters.
TAMPA is #21 on the April TPI® list at +2940 TPI. At +7.0 PL, TAMPA is the top Productive Life on the Top 100 International TPI® Bulls List. Being a High Noon son back to Delicious, TAMPA is a great combination of health and production traits at +1919 lbs of Milk, +1046 NM$, +1053 CM$, +69 lbs of Protein, +1.7 DPR and +3.2 Livability. This EcoFeed®cow sire is Feed Conversion Efficiency during the lactating stage of cows and is A2A2.

PERENNIAL is another Type standout for STgenetics® this April Sire Summary as he came in at #1 GPTAT and UDC combination sire in the breed at +4.06 GPTAT and +3.43 UDC. This Crushabull son is bred to sire stylish heifers and great uddered cows. He is also EcoFeed®heifer for Feed Conversion Efficiency in the growing stage of heifers.
Along with exciting new genetic evaluations, STgenetics® launched another revolutionary product, Super Conventional®, a new strategic gender-enhanced genetic blended product developed for the Beef on Dairy and Beef markets. Another industry development with the April Sire Summary was the identification and successful sequencing of Calf Recumbency, a new lethal mutation in the Holstein breed. STgenetics® has been proactive to analyze the data involved in Calf Recumbency research and now offers a standalone genetic test to identify the genetic disorder. The test is performed exclusively by Genetic Visions-ST™ and accessible for the dairy industry worldwide, secured by a licensing agreement with Pennsylvania State University, to help the industry manage this mutation efficiently and effectively.
